Only last month, Tesco admitted to reducing the price on a brand of Bulgarian wine to £1.11 (retail price). The retailer has till now been very supportive of the government ban to reduce below cost selling and low minimum prices for alcohol. However this low selling was authorised and confirmed by managers in order to clear stocks.

Wine-Bag’s Directors Comments:

“Whilst Wine-Bag will always support any wine retailer in their business, we firmly believe that they must have a moral responsibility and ensure that the industry is compliant with any government legislation which is will only benefit the customer and their help improve social responsibility.”
